Shipping Modes
How the cargo actually travels
The mode follows the commodity, the parcel size and what the destination port can handle.
Containerised (FCL)
Copper cathode, bagged agro commodities and flexitank liquids ship in 20ft and 40ft containers. Suits buyers taking regular, moderate-volume parcels.
Bulk vessel
Copper concentrate and ore, and larger agricultural lots, load as bulk cargo where volume and destination handling make it the better economics.
Break bulk & bagged
Jumbo bags and press-packed bales for commodities that need containment but not full containerisation.
The Port
Why loading at Dar es Salaam matters to your shipment
Dar es Salaam offers deep-water access for both containerised and bulk cargo, and sits on the corridors serving the DRC and Zambian copperbelts as well as East Africa's agricultural regions.
Operating from Vingunguti Industrial Area places our trade desk close to the terminal. Inspection, document preparation and loading happen in the same city rather than being coordinated remotely, which is what keeps the paperwork and the cargo describing the same consignment.
